Summer School in International Survey Methods

The Summer School in International Survey Methods is a 9-day intensive training program in survey methods with a particular focus on applications outside the US. The school takes place in person on Vanderbilt’s campus and features a variety of instructors working at the cutting edge of survey research around the world. Instruction is geared toward graduate students, faculty, or research practitioners in the social sciences, though advanced undergraduates may also apply. The final session will offer an opportunity for interested participants to present their own in-progress research involving survey data.

Dates: June 17-27, 2024

Location: Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN

Program cost:
Option 1: $1,500, including housing on Vanderbilt’s campus.  
Option 2: $600, not including housing on Vanderbilt’s campus.  Participants will need to find and secure their own accommodations.  
 
All participants will cover their own travel to and from Nashville.

Day 5: Scaling and Indexes (Drew Engelhardt, Stony Brook University)  

Day 6: Weighting and Imputation ( Inés Levin, University of California, Irvine )

Day 7: Longitudinal Surveys (Bryn Rosenfeld, Cornell University)  

Day 8: Survey Experiments (Taylor Boas, Boston University)  

Day 9: Student presentations (Elizabeth Zechmeister, Vanderbilt University and LAPOP Lab)
