QUALIFICATIONS AND  REQUIREMENTS:

The post  of full professor corresponds  to the  highest  level at  the  University of Lausanne  and therefore the candidate should have a particularly extensive academic dossier.

The candidate holds a Ph.D. in anthropology or  equivalent.

He/she  must have academic teaching experience in the field of cultural and social anthropology as well   as  good knowledge of  the  fundamental  theories  and  history of  cultural and  social anthropology.  He/she should be able to share teaching responsibilities with other colleagues.

He/she  can  attest  to  recognised scientific  research  competence in  the  cultural  and  social anthropology domain.   He/she  has an excellent and extensive academic dossier demonstrating recognised publications and empirical practice in the field of cultural and social anthropology.

TEACHING (45%)

Courses and seminars equivalent to 6 hours per week (bachelor and master levels)

–       one bachelor level  course in cultural and social anthropology (2hr/weekly, 56hr)

–       one bachelor level  seminar cultural and social anthropology (2hr/weekly, 56hr)

–       teaching cultural and social anthropology at the master level  (2hr/weekly, 56hr)

The incumbent  will  also be   responsible for  the supervision of  bachelor projects, master  and doctoral theses in cultural and social anthropology.

RESEARCH (45%)

The candidate  is expected to develop his/her  own research  in the field   of  cultural and social anthropology.   He/she  must  be capable of  working in a team and integrating into one of  the existing research  groups in the Cultural and  Social Anthropology  Laboratory.    The candidate should  take  responsibility for  creating  new  research  projects  and/or  coordinating  various activities  already  in  place  (PhD   workshops,  organisation  of   “Research   Day”,  conferences, publication coordination, etc.)
