Assistant Professor of Sociology

The Department of Social and Cultural Sciences invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2018. We seek applicants to teach primarily in the Sociology program, with expertise in the areas of social movements and collective behavior. The candidate who is hired will be expected to teach sections of Research Methods (with both qualitative and quantitative components) and Social Movements as well as other courses relevant to their areas of expertise. The ability to contribute to other majors in the department as well as to curriculum being developed around Race and Ethnic Studies will be considered an asset. 

Applicants should demonstrate excellence in teaching, evidence of scholarly productivity, and a clear research agenda. A Ph.D in Sociology or a related field is required by the time of appointment.

The Department of Social and Cultural Sciences offers undergraduate majors in Sociology, Anthropology, Criminology and Law Studies, and Social Welfare and Justice. The department is committed to excellence in both research and teaching. Please visit the department website here
